Large-scale Mosaic Panels from Vintage Azulejos

Our large mosaic panels are monumental works created from quarter fragments of authentic vintage azulejo tiles, carefully selected and assembled into cohesive compositions. Each fragment once belonged to a different tile, carrying its own glaze marks, tonal shifts, and traces of time.

Measuring 265 × 165 cm, these panels occupy space with real presence. They are designed not as small decorative accents, but as dominant visual structures capable of transforming entrances, staircases, and full walls into focal architectural elements.

The process of creating each panel is slow and deliberate. Hundreds of vintage fragments are positioned by hand, allowing colors, textures, and surfaces to interact naturally. The result is a surface that reveals depth and complexity when viewed up close, and a unified image when seen from a distance.

Every panel weighs approximately 70 kg, reflecting both the density of ceramic material and the scale of the work itself. Their physical weight reinforces their visual authority — these are objects meant to endure and to become part of the architecture around them.

Because the tiles used are vintage, no two panels are ever identical. Subtle irregularities, variations in glaze, and signs of age remain visible, preserving the authenticity of the original material while giving each composition its own character.

These panels represent a dialogue between past and present — fragments of historical ceramics brought together into contemporary monumental works.
