ABOUT

Our journey began more than 20 years ago, and since then it has been both an adventure and a privilege to explore the hidden ceramic treasures scattered across Portugal. What started as simple curiosity gradually turned into a lifelong passion — searching for discontinued tiles from historic national factories that once defined the character of Portuguese architecture.

Over the years, we have spent countless hours opening forgotten boxes, uncovering factory stock that had been carefully preserved for decades. Many of these tiles were never removed from walls, but kept in their original packaging — sometimes even in old wooden boxes — waiting for a second life. Each discovery felt like finding a small nugget of gold, a fragment of history that deserved to be seen again.

Because of the immense diversity of tiles we encountered, our work naturally evolved. We began creating compositions that range from decorative art pieces to functional objects, exploring the endless possibilities that traditional azulejo offers — from purely artistic panels to everyday objects that bring beauty into daily life.

We are a family business, and every stage of the process passes through our own hands — from selecting tiles and preparing materials to drawing, glazing and firing. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is anonymous. What you receive has been handled, inspected and cared for personally by us.

At one point, we even had five cats supervising our work — and, naturally, interfering whenever possible. Today there are three of them still keeping a close eye on the studio, making sure nothing happens without their approval. They have been part of this journey just as much as we have.

For us, this is not only about tiles. It is about preserving heritage, continuing traditions, and giving historic materials and techniques a new life — one piece at a time.
